SERVICE TO NAPO
Heather served as the Marketing Committee Chair for the NAPO Board of Directors in 2010-2011.
CREATION OF "ORGANIZED FOR LIFE" GIRL SCOUT PATCH
In January 2010 Heather was a finalist for the Philanthropy Award at the 2010 NAPO Los Angeles Awards ceremony for creating an "Organized for Life" Girl Scout patch and patch program. Though she didn't win, she did get to meet organizing guru and Oprah regular, Peter Walsh (see picture, left). Until 2011, Heather remained actively involved with the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida and conducted frequent workshops in South Tampa to help Brownies, Girl Scouts and Juniors work the curriculum and attain the Organized for Life patch she created.
SPEAKING TO STUDENTS
Your Home Editor firmly believes in the importance of stewardship, community, and giving back. Heather found the perfect connection in the Hillsborough County Public Schools AVID program. From 2007 - 2010 she donated countless hours each year speaking to the middle and high school AVID students about the importance of organization and time management skills for success in school and in life. The presentations allowed her the opportunity to combine her previous experience as a high school teacher and current experience as an organizer.
LOCAL PHILANTHROPY
in 2009 Heather was chosen as a finalist at the Tampa Bay Young Professionals Awards in the Community Service Young Professional of the Year category.
